History

The History of MIG dates back to 1985 when the Murray family established roots in the golfing mecca of Troon, Scotland. In 1993, Gordon Murray, a PGA life member, started accompanying golfing friends from the Washington area to our family home in Troon. Having retired from the club professional ranks after 40 plus years, Gordon quickly formed friendships and relationships in the Troon area that have become the basis for Murray International Golf today. Indeed the key relationships we enjoy with various golf clubs in the British Isles are what allow us the access to the most famous links in the world that you will enjoy during your visit.

While the majority of our first guests originated from the Washington D.C. area, we have now hosted thousands of golfers from all over the United States and beyond including New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. Many of our guests hail from some of America’s most famous clubs like Congressional, Augusta, Olympia Fields, and The Olympic Club to name a few.

In 2001 our family run company expanded and introduced new staff that are the mainstay of today’s’ operation. Coinciding with our expansion, we also renovated our magnificent oceanfront property and introduced a new fleet of vehicles that have been well received by both new and returning guests and allow MIG to offer you a truly first class golf vacation.

Today, MIG remains a small and personalized company. Cameron and Heather Murray are hands on owner operators who are there to make sure every detail is taken care of. As almost all of our business comes through referrals, we know the importance of making sure your trip is such an outstanding experience that you will return home and send your golfing friends our way. Having personally escorted thousands of golfers on our tours, we are able to give you invaluable advice when it comes to creating an itinerary and schedule for the week. Indeed, we try to meet or get to know all of our clients prior to their arrival so we can explain all the options available and get a sense for what would make your experience most enjoyable. Booking a Tour

The simplest way to get started is to use the “Contact Us” section of the web site. This easy to use tool will provide us with the basic information we need to then contact you and exchange ideas about planning your trip for you.

We will then be able to provide you with an itinerary and password on our web site where you can view your trip and make amendments and adjustments.

In order to confirm we a week, we require a $1,000 per person deposit which must be paid within 30 days of your written quotation. Offers and quotations will be valid for 60 days from date of issue. The balance of your trip will be due in full 90 days prior to your scheduled arrival. MIG reserve the right to increase the original quotation due to international currency fluctuations (this will be limited to a maximum increase of 10%).
Refunds and Cancellations- Deposits are non refundable after 30 days of MIG receiving them.

If a trip is cancelled after your final balance has been paid, we will refund 50% of the total amount paid (less the $1,000 deposit) if we have more than 60 days notice. If the trip is cancelled after your final balance has been paid and you cancel less than 30 days out, we will refund 25% of the total amount paid (less the $1,000 deposit).
